During the visit, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University, engaged in in-depth discussions with academic representatives from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies, and English. These sessions focused on potential collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint degree pathways, and interdisciplinary research opportunities. 

Following the meetings, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala visited several key facilities atSARSPU to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university’s academic infrastructure. His visit included the modern library, computer laboratories, robotics laboratory, English language lab, and various classrooms of CSE and BBA departments—providing insights into UITS’s commitment to quality education and innovation. The visit concluded with a shared commitment from both institutions to pursue the proposed collaborative initiatives and to further strengthen academic ties in the coming years.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome extended to Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, representing International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University, by Professor Dr. Farooq Hossan, Dean of the School of Business,SARSPU . The presence of key academic members—including Professor Dr. Farooq Hossan; Dr. Mahadi Hasan, Head of the Department of Business Studies and Chair of the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC); Ms. Rabaya Bosri, Assistant Professore; Mr. Arif Hossain, Lecturer in the Department of Business Studies; and representatives from the IQAC—made the meeting more engaging and productive through their active participation and valuable insights.

Professor Kulmala expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and introduced the objectives of his visit. During the session, he proposed several potential areas of collaboration, such as Student Exchange Programs, Faculty Exchange Programs, and Joint Short Courses.

The meeting also featured remarks from Dr. Mahadi Hasan, who welcomed Professor Kulmala and inquired about student scholarship opportunities and other forms of academic support.

Professor Kulmala highlighted various Master’s programs offered at Millersville University in the fields of Information Technology, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Innovation. He emphasized the mutual benefits of academic collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and global academic exposure for both students and faculty.

Following the meeting, Professor Kulmala visited various facilities atSARSPU , including computer laboratories, academic departments, and classrooms, to better understand the university’s academic environment. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening academic ties and exploring the proposed collaborative initiatives in the near future.

The welcome speech was given by the esteemed Dean of the Business Faculty, Dr. Farooq Hossan. He mentioned that the purpose of coming to university is to gain knowledge and become a good person. He expressed his hope that after four years, the students would emerge as truly good individuals, and he welcomed them to the Department of Business Studies, thanking everyone present.

The Treasurer address that the students until now, they have studied under the guidance of their guardians, but now, in the university, they are their directors. The university would provide them with the freedom and proper direction to manage them. He welcomed the new students and also thanked the members of the Department of Business Studies and Business Club for organizing the event.

In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor stated that students should not limit themselves to academic knowledge but should also develop skills through extracurricular activities. He highlighted that the new students would lead the university in all aspects and urged them to become ethical, skilled, and ideal individuals.

It’s great to hear that the event also featured input from an alumni speaker, Syed Rafsan Hasan, who is currently a Manager (SPO) at BRAC Bank. His sharing experiences and insights can be inspiring for new students, as they get a glimpse of where their studies might take them.

Raida Binte Zaman and Joyeta Rafson, a current student, also likely added a fresh perspective from the student’s viewpoint. It’s always good for incoming students to hear from someone who is still going through the experience.

Lecturer Arif Hossain, from the Department of Business Studies, highlighted the overall structure of the BBA program and shared valuable insights on achieving academic excellence. His guidance must have been particularly useful in setting expectations and preparing students for a successful academic experience.

Dr. Mahadi Hasan, Head of the Department of Business Studies, presided over the event and concluded the program by delivering a vote of thanks. In his closing remarks, he extended his best wishes to the students of the BBA 59th Batch for a bright and successful future. He encouraged them to make the most of their time at the university, to grow both academically and personally, and to contribute positively to society.
The event was facilitated by the students of the Department of Business Studies named as Ruponti. The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, performed by our student Kutub Uddin Nahid. The overall support for the event was provided by Conveyner of Orientation Program Committee Assistant Professor Ms. Rabaya Bosri, Member Secretary Lecturer Md. Serajum Monir and the member of the Orientation Program Committee Lecturer Arif Hossain and Lecturer Noor Hassan Mahmud Khan respectively. প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে মাননীয় উপাচার্য, বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগে বসন্তকালীন সেমিস্টার ২০২৫-এ সর্বাধিক শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি হওয়ায় বিভাগের সকলকে ধন্যবাদ জানান। এতে এই বিভাগের প্রাধান্য প্রকাশ পায় বলে তিনি উল্লেখ করেন। তিনি বলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে শুধুমাত্র পুঁথিগত বিদ্যার মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ না থেকে এক্সট্রা কারিকুলারের মধ্যমে নিজেদেরকে দক্ষ করে গড়ে তুলতে হবে। নবীন শিক্ষার্থীরাই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে সকল ক্ষেত্রে নেতৃত্ব দিবে। তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত জানানোর পাশাপাশি শিক্ষার্থীদের একজন নৈতিক, দক্ষ ও আদর্শবান মানুষ হওয়ার আহবান জানান।

বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে মাননীয় কোষাধ্যক্ষ, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের মাননীয় চেয়ারম্যান আলহাজ্ব সুফি মোহাম্মদ মিজানুর রহমান-এর উদ্দেশ্য, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ও বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের উদ্দেশ্য কি তা অবহিত করেন। তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন তোমরা মাধ্যমিক পর্যন্ত পড়ালেখা করেছ তোমাদের অভিভাবকের পরিচালনায়, কিন্তু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে তোমরা নিজেরাই নিজেদের পরিচালক। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তোমাদের এই স্বাধীনতা দিবে। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তোমাদেরকে সঠিক দিকনির্দেশনা দিবে নিজেদেরকে সঠিক ভাবে পরিচালনা করার জন্য। তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাগত এবং বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগ ও বিজনেস ক্লাব-এর সদস্যদেরকে এই অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান।

অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বিজনেস অনুষদের সম্মানিত ডিন, ড. ফারুক হোসেন। তিনি বলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আসার কারণ হচ্ছে জ্ঞান অর্জন করা সেই সাথে ভালো মানুষ হওয়া। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হচ্ছে আলোকিত মানুষ গড়ার কারখানা। আমরা চাই আমাদের এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়থেকে আগামী চার বছর পর তোমরা প্রকৃত ভালো মানুষ হয়ে বের হবে। আমরা আলোকিত মানুষ তৈরি করতে চাই। তোমাদেরকে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগে স্বাগত। সেই সাথে তিনি উপস্থিত সকলকে ধন্যবাদ জানান।

অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী রূপান্তী এবং পবিত্র কোরআন থেকে তেলাওয়াত করেন একই বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী কুতুব উদ্দিন নাহিদ। এ সময় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক ও বিজনেস ক্লাবের সদস্যবৃন্দ। অনুষ্ঠানের সার্বিক সহায়তায় ও আয়োজক কমিটিতে ছিলেন জনাব রাবেয়া বসরী (আহ্বায়ক), জনাব আরিফ হোসেন (সদস্য), জনাব নূর হাছান মাহমুদ খান (সদস্য), জনাব মো: সিরাজুম মুনির (সদস্য সচিব)। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিজনেস ক্লাবের সদস্যরা নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের ফুল দিয়ে বরণ করে নেয়।

The session started with the welcome note by the Honorable Dean, Faculty of Business. He extended his gratitude to the honorable guests for their valuable time. He also appreciated the efforts of the students and the organizer of the industrial tour Ms. Nadia Nowsin for arranging such an impactful session.

The Honorable Treasurer and Honorable Vice Chancellor ofSARSPU delivered their valuable speeches respectively and highly encouraged the students.

The presenters of the session were Ms. Eshita Akter, Md. Aminur Islam and Md. Rabby Hossain on behalf of the batch. They shared their whole learning experience throughout the Industrial Tour at Meghna Ceramic Industries Ltd.

The session was hosted by Ms. Nadia Nowsin who expressed her sincere gratitude to all the honorable guests and the students. The session successfully ended with some clicks of pictures and some refreshments arranged by the students of BBA 51 Batch (Marketing Major).

The vibrant ceremony was graced by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, the esteemed Treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, and the respected Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Dr. Farooq Hossan, along with other distinguished faculty members. The event was presided over by Ms. Farhana Rahman Sumi, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Studies.

The program began with an opening speech by Dr. Farooq Hossan, emphasizing the importance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also physically and mentally resilient. This was followed by a motivating address from the esteemed registrar, Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, and treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, highlighting the role of extracurricular activities in fostering a sense of unity, discipline, and healthy competition among students. The ceremony concluded with an empowering speech by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, who commended the participants for their dedication and applauded the organizers for their outstanding efforts in making the event a grand success.

উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইউআইটিএস-এর মাননীয় কোষাধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক ড. সিরাজ উদ্দীন আহমেদ, বিজনেস অনুষদের সম্মানিত ডিন ড. ফারুক হোসেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সম্মানিত রেজিস্ট্রার জনাব মোহাম্মদ কামরুল হাসান। অনুষ্ঠানের কো-অর্ডিনেটর ছিলেন বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সহকারি অধ্যাপক জনাব নাদিয়া নওশিন এবং সার্বিক সহায়তায় ছিলেন বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সহকারি অধ্যাপক ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহকারি প্রক্টর জনাব সুমি সরকার। বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী সানজিদা অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন। এ সময় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীবৃন্দ এ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে ৫১তম ব্যাচের শিক্ষর্থীদেরকে কেক কেটে খাওয়ানো হয়। পরে বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীরা এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেন।

অধিবেশনে জনাব মোঃ হাফিজুর রহমান বলেন, ট্রাভেল ও ট্যুরিজম সেক্টরটি আমাদের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য বিশাল একটি ক্ষেত্র। এখানে আমাদের কেরিয়ার গড়ারও সুযোগ রয়েছে। আমাদের দেশে এই সেক্টরটিকে আরও এগিয়ে নেওয়ার জন্য আমাদেকে দক্ষ উদ্যোক্তা ও কর্মী তৈরি করতে হবে। এ বিষয়ে আমাদের ও সরকারের যে সকল ঘাটতি রয়েছে তা দূর করতে হবে। তিনি বলেন, চাকুরির এই প্রতিযোগীতার বাজারে ইন্টার্নশিপ করা একজন চাকুরি প্রত্যাশী অন্যদের চেয়ে অনেক এগিয়ে থাকে। ইউআইটিএস-এর একজন এলামনাই হিসেবে বর্তমানে আমি একটি ট্রাভেল কোম্পানির চেয়ারম্যান। আমাদের কোম্পানিতে ইউআইটিএস- এর শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য ইন্টার্নশিপ ও জব প্লেসমেন্ট-এর সুযোগ করে দিতে চাই যেন তারা এই বিষয়ে দক্ষতা অর্জন করে এই সেক্টরেই কেরিয়ার গড়তে পারে। তিনি আরও বলেন, আমার কেরিয়ারের সফলতার পিছনে ইউআইটিএস-এর শিক্ষকদের অনেক অবদান রয়েছে এজন্য আমি তাঁদের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ। এই অধিবেশনে তাঁকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানোর জন্য তিনি বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সকলকে ধন্যবাদ জানান।

মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে বলেন, আমাদের আজকের অতিথি এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েরই একজন সফল এলামনাই। তিনি তার কোম্পানিতে আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে ইন্টার্নশিপ ও জব প্লেসমেন্ট-এর সুযোগ করে দিতে চান, এটি আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জন্য অতন্ত গর্বের বিষয়। এর জন্য তাকে বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ জানান। তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন তোমাদেরকে এই সুয়োগগুলো গ্রহণ ও যথাযথ কাজে লাগাতে হবে। তিনি বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক ও ক্লাবের সদস্যবৃন্দকে এই সেমিনার আয়োজন করার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বিজনেস অনুষদের মাননীয় ডিন ড. ফারুক হোসেন। তিনি সকলকে স্বাগত ও সেমিনারে উপস্থিত হওয়ার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান। তিনি বলেন আমাদরকে কর্মক্ষেত্রে সফলতা অর্জন করতে হলে দক্ষ হতে হবে। যে যতো বেশি দক্ষতা অর্জন করতে পারবে সে নিজেকে ততো বেশি ডেভলাপ করতে পারবে। আমরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকরাও চাই আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা শুধুমাত্র বইয়ের মধ্যে সীমাবধ্য না থেকে কর্মের দক্ষতা অর্জন ও এক্সট্রা কারিকুলার কার্যক্রমে বেশি বেশি অংশগ্রহণ করবে। এক্সট্রা কারিকুলার আমাদেরকে জ্ঞান অর্জনের পাশাপাশি দক্ষ হতে সাহায্য করে থাকে। তিনি বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগ ও বিজনেস ক্লাবকে এই সেমিনার আয়োজন করার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান।

বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান অনুষ্ঠানটি সফল ভাবে আয়োজন করার জন্য সেমিনারের আহবায়ক ও বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সহকারি অধ্যাপক জনাব মোঃ হোসেন মিয়াজী এবং সার্বিক সহযোগীতার জন্য বিভাগের অন্যান্য শিক্ষকবৃন্দ ও বিজনেস ক্লাবকে বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন। বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থী সানজিদা অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন। এসময় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিজনেস স্টাডিজ বিভাগের সকল শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীবৃন্দ এ অধিবেশনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন বিজনেস অনুষদের ডিন ড. ফারুক হোসেন। তিনি পাবলিক রিলেশনস্ (পিআর)-এর ইতিহাস বাংলাদেশে বেশি দিনের না হলেও বিশ্বে এর অনেক ইতিহাস রয়েছে বলে উল্লেখ করেন। একটি কোম্পানিকে ব্রান্ড হিসেবে তৈরি করার ক্ষেত্রে পিআর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। যেকোন কোম্পানিকে সফলতার জন্য জনগণের কাছে পৌছাতে হবে, আর পিআর জনগণের মাঝে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির মাধ্যমে কোম্পানিকে তাদের কাছে পৌছাতে সাহায্য করে। তিনি সকলকে স্বাগত জানানোর পাশাপাশি সেমিনারে উপস্থিত হওয়ার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান এবং এই সেশন থেকে নতুন কিছু শিক্ষার আশাবাদ ব্যাক্ত করেন।
