During the visit, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University, engaged in in-depth discussions with academic representatives from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies, and English. These sessions focused on potential collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint degree pathways, and interdisciplinary research opportunities. 

Following the meetings, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala visited several key facilities atSARSPU to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university’s academic infrastructure. His visit included the modern library, computer laboratories, robotics laboratory, English language lab, and various classrooms of CSE and BBA departments—providing insights into UITS’s commitment to quality education and innovation. The visit concluded with a shared commitment from both institutions to pursue the proposed collaborative initiatives and to further strengthen academic ties in the coming years.

The purpose of the seminar was to equip Class Representatives (CRs) with the essential leadership, communication, and organizational skills necessary to effectively fulfill their responsibilities. The program aimed to empower CRs to act as a vital bridge between students and faculty, while also enhancing their ability to coordinate academic activities and represent their peers.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, who attended as the Chief Guest. Associate Professor Mr. Al Imtiaz, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, joined as the Special Guest.

Among the faculty present were Md. Sultana Rokeya Naher (Assistant Professor), Md. Yousuf Ali (Lecturer), and Ratri Datta (Lecturer), reflecting strong departmental support for student leadership initiatives.

The seminar featured a keynote address by Mr. Mrinmoy Biswas Akash, Lecturer and Course Coordinator of the CSE Department, who highlighted the crucial role CRs play in academic communication and the importance of nurturing leadership at the student level.

The interactive and insightful sessions of the seminar were met with enthusiasm from participants, who left better prepared to take on leadership roles within the academic environment. The event marked another step inSARSPU ’s commitment to fostering student engagement and academic excellence.

Startup Bangladesh Limited proudly presents the Youth Startup Summit 2025, featuring the Youth Innovation Challenge! on February 26th, 2025, at BCC Auditorium, Dhaka, to witness the top finalists compete with their game-changing ideas. Out of a vast pool of applications, 8 teams were selected to pitch their startup concepts to the panel of judges. The teams are Northrim Labs, Swaccha, PinkLifeLine, Sound Vision, Denim Revive, Agronova, Agri Udyog and Nirbhoya.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) extend their Congratulations to all participants of the Youth Startup Summit 2025. Special commendation goes to theSARSPU Team “SOUND VISION” : Team Members: Ishraq Uddin Chowdhury, Kazi Md. Azhar Uddin, Syed Jisan Ahmed.

The competition ended with the winner announcement at the prize giving ceremony where the winning team Northrim Labs received the prize money of Tk 3 lakh for the idea of remote sensing and AI to allow cities optimize tree selection, tree spatial planning and maintenance strategies. The Youth Startup Summit 2025 launched Youth Innovation Challenge, discussion sessions and exhibition at the central auditorium of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) on Wednesday to inspire and engage young innovators.

The grand gala night was held on 28 February, 2025 at Le Méridien Hotel in Dhaka to celebrate the success of 20 winning startups from different regions of the country. The event also recognized 30 community builders for their significant contributions to the program’s successful implementation. The cheques were handed over by BTRC Chairman Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad Ul Bari. Also present at the ceremony were BTRC Vice-Chairman Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Grameenphone’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) Tanvir Mohammad, senior officials from the telecom industry, and prominent entrepreneurs.

The Winning Team, “Sound Vision” from the University of Information Technology & Sciences SARSPU, presented a wearable audiovisual device designed to provide real-time guidance and support to visually impaired individuals at an affordable price. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to theSARSPU ’s teams, they gained valuable insights and experience through this program, positioning them to make a significant impact on the technology industry. We wish them the best as they prepare to showcase their innovative ideas and compete for the coveted grants. Since its inception in 2015, GP Accelerator has played a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem. It has created employment opportunities for 500,000 people through 50 startups, significantly contributing to the country’s economic progress.

Three teams fromSARSPU have been awarded a total grant of 170,000 BDT at the Final Pitch Day of the first three cohorts of Launchpad by UIHP@UIU on March 14, 2025. Following four months (November to March) of rigorous incubation training, the three exceptional teams—”PELTIERS,” “SOUND VISION,” and “CLOUD” fromSARSPU —successfully secured seed funding from Launchpad by UIHP. Team PELTIERS, is working on developing a low-cost, energy-efficient air conditioning module that promises to address the high costs and resource consumption associated with traditional AC systems and Team SOUND VISION created smart glasses for visually impaired individuals, capable of object detection, face recognition, and real-time audiobook conversion and Team “CLOUD” secured pre-seed funding for “Scrap Venture”. Congratulations! All teams were successfully awarded within their respective Innovation Cohorts at LaunchPad @UIHP!

Congratulations to the Winning Teams of IC1, IC2 & IC3 from UIHP Launchpad!
On March 14, at the University Innovation Hub, Launchpad@UIU, we witnessed groundbreaking ideas take flight as the winning teams from Innovation Cohorts 1, 2 & 3 secured a total of BDT 750,000 in pre-seed grants!
Throughout the program, 45 teams were selected from a highly competitive pool of over 100 applications. These teams worked intensively under the guidance of expert mentors, refining their business models and product ideas. At the event, 18 graduating teams were awarded seed funding ranging from BDT 10,000 to BDT 100,000 to help scale their startups. The top-performing teams will advance to a national incubation program later this year, offering them further opportunities for growth and expansion. Launchpad by UIHP@UIU is an initiative of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) Project, supported by the ICT Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, and The World Bank. The program continues to bridge academia and industry, fostering the next generation of Bangladeshi Entrepreneurs.
