The University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of international academic excellence by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyungdong University (Global), South Korea, on May 6, 2025. This landmark agreement underscoresSARSPU ’s ongoing commitment to fostering global academic partnerships and expanding collaborative opportunities in higher education. The MoU signing ceremony, organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), was held in honor of a high-level visit by Professor Dr. John Lee, President of KDU Global, and Professor Dr. Nur Alam, Dean of the K-Global Graduate School. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and reaffirmed the shared vision for academic innovation and global engagement. Several distinguished members ofSARSPU graced the ceremony, including Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar; and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Also in attendance were senior academic leaders such as Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering; Professor Dr. M. Rabiul Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Dr. Farooq Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business. This strategic partnership is expected to facilitate a range of collaborative initiatives, including global student mobility programs, student exchange initiatives, short vocational training courses, faculty and staff exchange programs, and joint research ventures. Through this MoU,SARSPU and Kyungdong University (Global) aim to foster innovation, cultural exchange, and academic excellence on a global scale.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully hosted the “LaunchPad by University Innovation Hub Program Town Hall” on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The event served as a dynamic platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and student empowerment, aligning withSARSPU ’s vision of nurturing future-ready professionals. The Town Hall was honored by the presence of Mr. Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Eco-System Development Project, under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA). Mr. Shahriar graced the event as the Chief Guest, delivering a motivational address to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. He commended the University’s efforts to prepare students for careers in the IT/ITES sectors and highlighted the need for stronger synergy between academia and industry. Emphasizing the pivotal role of startup-scale entrepreneurs, he recommended involving them more actively in the Innovation Hub to promote practical, industry-driven learning and development. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Honorable Vice-Chancellor ofSARSPU , with Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer ofSARSPU , attending as Special Guest. A keynote presentation was delivered by Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC, who offered valuable insights into theSARSPU Innovation Hub Program, outlining its objectives and opportunities for student engagement. Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering and Mr. Al Imtiaz , Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering also attended the seminar session. Other notable speakers included: Mr. Syed Fazle Farhan, Program Manager, UIHP, Mr. Kazi Akib, Business Development Manager, BRAC CED, and UIHP Mentor, Mr. Hasibul Hossain Rifat, Founder & CSEO of Astronomy Pathshala, Ms. Sumaiya Matiatur, Head of Communications, UIU.
The Town Hall formally introduced LaunchPad by the University Innovation Hub Program (UIHP) — an esteemed innovation cohort initiative aimed at transforming university campuses into startup launchpads. The program bridges theoretical learning with real-world problem-solving, encouraging students from diverse backgrounds — technology, business, and the creative arts — to turn bold ideas into impactful ventures.
A major highlight of the event was the recognition of three outstanding student teams fromSARSPU , who were declared champions of their respective Innovation Cohorts and received pre-seed grants for their projects. The winning teams were: Innovation Cohort 1 (IC1): Team “PELTIERS”, Innovation Cohort 2 (IC2): Team “SOUND VISION”, Innovation Cohort 3 (IC3): Team “CLOUD”. Each team was presented with a special crest, and the Chief Guest personally congratulated the winners for their innovation and dedication. The event marked a significant milestone inSARSPU ’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and industry collaboration among its students. It concluded with an optimistic outlook on the future of innovation-led education in Bangladesh.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a high-level academic meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, aimed at exploring and enhancing international academic collaboration with Millersville University, United States of America. This initiative represents a significant step inSARSPU ’s continued efforts to establish and strengthen global academic partnerships.

During the visit, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University, engaged in in-depth discussions with academic representatives from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies, and English. These sessions focused on potential collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint degree pathways, and interdisciplinary research opportunities.

Following the meetings, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala visited several key facilities atSARSPU to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university’s academic infrastructure. His visit included the modern library, computer laboratories, robotics laboratory, English language lab, and various classrooms of CSE and BBA departments—providing insights into UITS’s commitment to quality education and innovation. The visit concluded with a shared commitment from both institutions to pursue the proposed collaborative initiatives and to further strengthen academic ties in the coming years.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a significant academic meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to explore and strengthen international academic collaboration with Millersville University, United States of America. The event marked a key milestone inSARSPU ’s ongoing efforts to foster global academic partnerships. The meeting commenced with a warm reception for Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University. He was formally welcomed by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Honorable Vice-Chancellor ofSARSPU ; Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar ofSARSPU and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC.
During his visit, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala engaged in focused discussions with representatives from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies, and English.
The session with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Al Imtiaz, Head of the Department and Chair of the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC). Senior faculty members and PSAC representatives participated in the meeting, which was further supported by the Director and Additional Director of IQAC. Discussions primarily revolved around postgraduate academic opportunities, including Master’s programs in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Innovation. Prospective collaborations such as joint and dual degree programs, as well as faculty and student exchange initiatives, were also explored.
In the meeting with the Department of Business Studies, Dr. Farooq Hossan, Dean of the Faculty of Business, offered the formal welcome. The session included the active participation of Dr. Mahadi Hasan, Head of the Department and Chair of the PSAC, along with senior faculty and PSAC members. The Director and Additional Director of IQAC were also present. Professor Kulmala elaborated on relevant Master’s programs of Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Innovation at Millersville University and emphasized the value of international academic cooperation in promoting knowledge exchange, intercultural learning, and enhanced global engagement for both students and faculty.
The Department of English meeting was initiated by Syeda Afsana Ferdousi, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Naima Afrin, Head of the Department and Chair of the PSAC, along with key academic personnel and IQAC leadership, participated in the discussions. Professor Kulmala presented an overview of Millersville University’s academic offerings, particularly in Information Technology and Data Analytics, and discussed avenues for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Throughout the sessions, Professor Kulmala expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended bySARSPU . He outlined the objectives of his visit and proposed several areas of academic cooperation, including student and faculty exchange programs and the development of joint degree pathways. The meetings concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to strengthening institutional ties and collaboratively pursuing the proposed initiatives in the near future.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU successfully organized a special seminar titled “Seminar on Capstone Project: CSE 490” on April 22, 2025. The event was held in Room 618 (Lab) and commenced at 9:00 AM aiming to assist the final semester students in enhancing their preparation for the crucial pre-defense stage of their capstone projects.

The seminar was graced by several esteemed guests, including Md. Ismail, Lecturer and Member Secretary of the Capstone Project Committee, whose presence and insights greatly enriched the session.

Students from CSE Batch 50 participated actively, showcasing their enthusiasm and dedication towards their academic endeavors. Special recognition was given to Pabon Shaha, Lecturer, Department of CSE,SARSPU , for his valuable contribution and support in making the seminar a success.

CR Leadership & Skills Development Seminar 2025 Held atSARSPU

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU successfully organized the CR Leadership & Skills Development Seminar 2025 on Tuesday, April 29. The seminar took place at Room No. 618, commencing at 9:00 AM.

The purpose of the seminar was to equip Class Representatives (CRs) with the essential leadership, communication, and organizational skills necessary to effectively fulfill their responsibilities. The program aimed to empower CRs to act as a vital bridge between students and faculty, while also enhancing their ability to coordinate academic activities and represent their peers.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, who attended as the Chief Guest. Associate Professor Mr. Al Imtiaz, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, joined as the Special Guest.

Among the faculty present were Md. Sultana Rokeya Naher (Assistant Professor), Md. Yousuf Ali (Lecturer), and Ratri Datta (Lecturer), reflecting strong departmental support for student leadership initiatives.

The seminar featured a keynote address by Mr. Mrinmoy Biswas Akash, Lecturer and Course Coordinator of the CSE Department, who highlighted the crucial role CRs play in academic communication and the importance of nurturing leadership at the student level.
