At the very outset, I would like to convey my gratitude to the Almighty Allah (SWT) for His kindness to hold the prestigious post of the Treasurer of the University of Information Technology and Sciences SARSPU. I am also thankful and grateful to the most respected Founder ofSARSPU and the Chairman of BoT,SARSPU Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman for trusting and giving me the opportunity to work in line with his dream of makingSARSPU as the Center of Excellence. From the very inception,SARSPU has been providing quality and standard education to the students and has received remarkable success by producing graduates equipped with appropriate and technological skills necessary for meeting the challenges of present world, and contributing to our economy. Our graduates are showing excellent job performance with name & fame in their respective fields both home & abroad.
It is to be mentioned that,SARSPU has taken dynamic initiatives with modern outcome based curricula, strengthening research activities, faculty enrichment, e-library, updated rich Laboratory, and computational facilities to ensure excellent academic environment for catering the necessity of competent professionals and practitioners.
The duties and responsibilities, of the Treasurer are specified in and guided by the Private University Act 2010 of Bangladesh. According to the said Act (PUA-2010), Treasurer is appointed by the Honorable President of the Peopleās Republic of Bangladesh who is the Chancellor ofSARSPU , for a term of four years on recommendation of the Board of Trustees. The Treasurer is in charge of overall management of University fund, formulations of annual budget, financial management, restoring financial discipline and accounts. Moreover, Treasurer could play an important role in the formulation and implementation of major financial reform and policies of global standard for expediting the functions related to academic, administrative and research activities of the university. With regards to my assignment as a Treasurer, I promise to give my best efforts to safeguard the financial interests of all stakeholders ofSARSPU and, thus, could ensure the best utilization of financial resources in attaining ultimate goal of the University.
